The Green Bay Packers face a powerful Offensive Team on Sunday, one that has several
different weapons. First, the
St. Louis Rams have
Marshall Faulk, the best player at
his position. Second, the
Rams have
Kurt Warner, the Second best player at his position.
Third, the
Rams have world class athletes at wide receiver. That adds up to an offense that
can score at will. How will the Packers stop The Greatest Show on Turf? These are what I
consider to be the keys to a Packers upset.
The most important thing will be the ability of the Packer Defense to put
Kurt Warner
on his ass. The Packers have not shown that they can consistently get to the quarterback.
The Defense will have to get to Warner if they are going to stop this potent offense.
No Turnovers! The Packers will not win if they turn the ball over. There is usually no
need to say this as it seems fairly obvious, but against the
Rams it will be even more costly.
The Packers will need a solid all around game from their 3 teams; Offense, Defense, and
Special Teams. The coverage and return teams must step up to win the battle of field
position from the Packers.
Finally, and most important, the Packers need to keep pounding the ball on the ground.
If the
Rams have a weak spot, it would be their rushing Defense.
Ahman Green is going to
get stronger as the game goes on. The Offense will have to get
Green the ball in the open
field on some screen passes. This is where
Green will have a greater chance to take it
to the House!
Win or Lose, this will be a great game for the Packers. If they win, they will have pulled
off one of the greatest upsets of all time, and suddenly become the
Super Bowl favorites.
If they Lose, the Packers will be able to see where their at as a team.
A Loss would show this young team what it takes to be a champion. The Packers will have
hunger in their eyes next year if they lose this game. Yes, I am a Homer, and I say this
because I see the Packers Losing a close one by a score of 38-27. That's the way I
