The drive eventually stalled, and Hanson came in and kicked a 42 yard field goal to give the Lions a 10-0 lead. The Packers found pay dirt on their next drive. Favre passed to Walls for a gain of 30 on first down. Green managed to gain 9 yards, getting the Packers down to the 32. Favre later completed two straight passes to Davenport to get the Packers down to the 10. On second and goal, Favre tossed to Bubba Franks for the touch down. Longwell added the p.a.t. and it was 10-7. The Lions and Harrington stormed back on the next drive. Harrington threw to Bill Schroeder for a gain of 13. A few plays later on third and 8, Harrington passed to Ricks for 13 and a first down at the 43. Two plays later, foloowing a sack, Harrington passed to Hakim for a gain of 13. Several plays later, the Lions were within striking distance again with second and goal at the 1. But following a fumbled snap and Harrington being SACKED for a loss of 6, the Lions settld for a 28 yard field goal from Hanson to increase the lead to 13-7 at half time.
In the third quarter, the Packers opening drive, ended quickly, when Favre threw an interception. The defense, stopped the Lions and a punt gave the Packers the ball back at the 35. Favre then passed to Drver for 20 yards out to the 45. On the next play, Favre faked a hand-off and lofted a pass down field to Walker, who beat his coverage and scored the touch down. Logwell added the p.a.t. and the Packers had their only lead of the game at 14-13 with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter.
In the fourth,Favre passed to Walker for 18 yards, ut he fumbled as he was hitby Dre Bly and the Lions recoverd at the 31. The Packer defense put the pressure on and held the Lions to a 49 yard field gaol from Hanson,which allowed the Lions to reclaim the lead at 16-14. Later, Mike Mckenzie intercepted a Harrington pass, but on the first play, Favre fumbled and the Lions recoverd at the 36. Once again the defense came through,and the Lions settled for a 46 yard field goal to widen the lead to 19-14 with nine minutes remaining.
On the kick-off Davenport gave the Packers some life as he returned the kick 51 yards down to the 40. But the drive ended quickly, as Dre Bly intercepted a pass from Favre. Harrington hit Hakim for 11 on a third and two. Gary burst open for a huge gain of 17 yards. However.... again the defense stepped up and forced the Lions to settle for a 22 yard field goal from Hanson, which would be his FIFTH of the day. The successful kick made it a 22-14 game.
The Packers had another come-back drive end, when Favre attempted a deep pass for Ferguson an saw it get intercepted. Late in the game, Green Bay still hd a chance of scoring and forcing an over-time, but a last second hail-Mary pass was batted down and the Lions feast on this Thanksgiving day with a 22-14 victory.
