One of the more colorful and popular players to wear the green and gold for many years, LeRoy Butler announced that he is retiring from football. Butler donned the Packer colors for 181 games over a 12 year career. He leaves the game as one of the team's all-time elites. Only five players in the 83 year history of the Packers have sported the Packer colors longer than Butler. Those players being Bart Starr-16 seasons; Ray Nitschke-15; Forrest Gregg-14; and Charles Buckets Goldenberg-13.
Throughout his career Butler totalled 38 interceptions and 20 quarterback sacks.
