Arizona opened the scoring for the day after a trade of turnovers. First Nick Barnett intercepted a pass. On the first play, Ahmann Green fumbled the ball right back to te Cadinals who took over at the 39. On third and ten Cardinals quarterback Blake completed a pass for 39 yards to keep the drive alive and give Arizona a first and goal at the 1. On the next play, Blake scored the touchdown to give Arizona a 7-0 lead.
The Packers woulddrive back and tie the game mid-way through the second quarter. Favre passed to Driver for 8 yards. Next, Green gained 14 yards. After that Tony Fisher caught a Favre pass for a 23 yard gain, setting up a first and goal at the 9. Green, then carried two ties for gains of five yards each. On third and goal, Favre passed to David Martin for the touchdown. Longwell added the extar point to tie the game at 7-7. After that, the defense shut down Arizona's next drive, putting Favre and the offense back on the field. Favre completed a string of nine straight passes, but the drive eventually stalled out, and the Packers had to settle for a 40 yard field goal by Longwell anfd a 10-7 lead. The Cardinals would storm back before the end of the half and tie the game at 10-10 on a 22 yard field goal by Grmatica.
The Cardinals came out strong in the third quarter behind Blake. Blake passed for a gain of 16 to Anquan Bolden. Blake also passed for a gain of 15 to Johnson, follwed by another pass gain of 20 yards to Bolden. Gramatica capped off the drive with a 37 yard field goal to extend the Cardinals lead to 13-10. The Cardinals offense remained strong and kept the Packer defense on the field for the bulk of the half. Arizona's offense was on the field 20 minutes, forcing the big Packer defense to try and stop their ball control, and not wear down themselves.
Early in the fourth, the Packers would show some hope as they tied the game at 13-13 on a 40 yard field goal by Longwell. But in the end, the defense was burned out and could not find a way to stop Arizona. The Cardinals would seal the game on a grueling 11 play-69 yard drive touchdown drive to secure the game at 20-13. The Packers and Favre did have one final chance win. The drive started at the 25. Favre passed to Walker for a gain of 33. Then Walker caught another pass for 11 yards, giving the Packers a first down at the 17. Bubba Franks then caught a pass for a gain of 8. With time running out, and the Packers with a third and goal at the 7, Favre threw a pass intothe endzone, which was picked off by Dexter Jackson, to end the game and give the Packers their second loss of the season.
